Vision

To present high-quality performances and programs of symphonic music, using both professional and non-professional musicians, in an innovative presentation format that increases listeners' appreciation of the historical, cultural, and emotional significance of the music and, therefore, the relevance of music in their lives.

                                Goals

To expand and develop the audience for symphonic music, and create a unique reputation as a valuable resource in the Chicago metropolitan area by:

• Collaborating with educational, cultural, religious, business, social service, and civic organizations to enhance awareness of and interest in the music and the orchestra;
   
• Presenting guest artists of wide-ranging accomplishments; and
   
• Fostering the development of young local musicians (as soloists and as orchestra musicians).
