Both Mahler’s and Humperdinck’s music embodies the fascinating spirit of German folktales, where good and evil exist side-by-side and mortals encounter fantastic, unimaginable dangers. The result is music of amazing color, mystery, and excitement!

The distinguished Baritone Philip Kraus joins the NSO for a selection of captivating songs by Mahler, while the orchestra journeys even farther “into the woods,” as it were, with a thrilling tale of murder and otherworldly revenge by everyone’s favorite Bohemian folklorist, Antonin Dvorak.

An event not to be missed!

There will be a free pre-concert lecture given by our popular lecturer, Jim Kendros, starting at 2:30 pm.
