Northbrook Symphony Announces 2025-2026 Season
The Northbrook Symphony (“NSO”) is excited to announce its 2025-2026 concert season, and 7th under Music Director Mina Zikri’s leadership.
Our first event is a Family Concert on August 24th, titled “Mozart’s Magnificent Voyage”, as the NSO collaborates with Classical Kids Music Education in a theatrical production about the life of the legendary classical composer and excerpts of more than 20 of his most famous pieces sure to appeal to all ages!
The subscription season begins with our October 5th concert, “Comfortably Classical”. This concert will be led by Robert Chen, NSO Artistic Creative Partner and Chicago Symphony Orchestra Concertmaster, as he performs Mozart’s A major Violin Concerto and fellow CSO musician William Welter plays Mozart’s Oboe Concerto.
Maestro Zikri returns to the stage January 11, 2026 to conduct Mahler’s monumental Symphony #1 in a program titled “The Titan”.
World-renowned violinist Ilya Kaler, who last performed with the NSO two years ago, returns on February 22nd to give a tour of Vivaldi’s “The Four Seasons”. Maestro Kaler is the only violinist ever to have won Gold medal at the three most prestigious international competitions: Tchaikovsky, Sibelius and Paganini!
Our second “Comfortably Classical” concert on March 8th presents Ben Goldscheider making his NSO debut performance in Mozart’s Horn Concerto #4.
“Romantic Essentials” is the title of our concluding concert on May 31, 2026 featuring Joshua Brown playing the Brahms Violin Concerto and the NSO ending with Beethoven’s Symphony #3 (“Eroica”). Maestro Brown is a rising international star and the NSO is proud to welcome him back home since his last appearance in 2019!
