Northbrook Symphony welcomes star violinist Ilya Kaler for Vivaldi’s Four Seasons on February 22

Northbrook, IL — The Northbrook Symphony, the North Shore’s fully professional orchestra, presents Vivaldi’s "The Four Seasons" on Sunday, February 22, 2026 at 4:00pm at the Sheely Center for the Performing Arts.

Violinist Ilya Kaler returns as a guest of the Northbrook Symphony as both soloist and conductor, leading all four of Antonio Vivaldi’s concertos evoking Spring, Summer, Autumn and Winter. From the joyful renewal of spring to the dramatic storms of summer and the shimmering chill of winter, The Four Seasons remains a thrilling display of virtuosity and musical storytelling more than 300 years after its debut.

Kaler, the only violinist ever to win gold medals at the Tchaikovsky, Sibelius, and Paganini international competitions, is a prolific recording artist on Naxos Records and is on faculty at the Cleveland Institute of Music. He was formerly on faculty at the DePaul University School of Music in Chicago.

Northbrook Symphony General Manager Robbie Ellis presents a pre-concert talk at 3:00pm. The concert will run approximately 1 hour and 10 minutes, including a 15-minute intermission.

This performance is part of the Northbrook Symphony’s 2025-26 season under Music Director Mina Zikri, known for his dynamic leadership and commitment to artistic excellence. Zikri conducts the remaining concerts of the season on March 8 and May 31.
